Terms of Service
These terms cover the work I do for you as Fisher Computer Solutions LLC (“Fisher Computer Solutions”), a Michigan limited liability company. They are written in plain English. If anything here is unclear, ask me before we start.
Effective October 1, 2026
The short version
One-time work, billed by invoice.
I set things up and build things. On-site jobs and projects get an estimate before I start, and we talk before the work goes beyond it. You pay by invoice, and there are no subscriptions and no automatic charges.
What’s covered
These terms apply to every service I offer:
They also apply to anything else we agree on in writing, and an email counts. Most work is a one-time job or project. I don’t sell subscriptions or ongoing plans, and nothing is charged automatically: you are only charged when you pay an invoice yourself.
Estimates & changes
Nothing beyond the estimate happens without your OK.
Before on-site work I give you an upfront estimate. It is my honest best guess from what I know at the start, and some problems run deeper than they look. If a job is going to take more time or cost more than the estimate, I stop and talk to you before continuing.
Web and app projects get a written estimate that lists what is included, who keeps the code, and, for larger projects, the milestones. Changes to that scope are agreed in writing (email is fine) and can change the price and the timeline.
Payment
Invoices are due on receipt. You can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, bank transfer, or check. The price on your estimate and invoice is the price for paying by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Cash App Pay. Paying by bank transfer or check, which go straight into my business bank account, saves 3% on the invoice. Web and app projects start with a 50% deposit. The details are in payment options.
Cancellations & refunds
Give me 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment; there is no fee. If you cancel a web or app project, you pay for the work done so far, and if your deposit covers more than that, I refund the rest. If something I did isn’t right, I fix it first at no charge, and refunds for completed work are decided case by case. Please contact me before disputing a charge with your card issuer; that doesn’t limit your right to dispute it. The full details are in my refund and cancellation policy.
Hardware
You buy your own devices, unless we agree otherwise.
By default you purchase the hardware yourself, so the receipt and the warranty are in your name. I am happy to recommend what to buy. If we agree that I will supply hardware, it appears on your invoice as a separate line item, with Michigan sales tax. The manufacturer’s warranty covers the device itself, and I will help you with a warranty claim if it fails.
Accounts & ongoing costs
Your accounts stay yours.
Domains, Cloudflare, hosting, and other cloud services are set up in your own accounts, and you pay those providers directly. If we agree that I will keep a service on my account for you, I bill it at cost, with no markup, as a separate line item on your invoice. Renewals are invoiced before they are due. A domain moves to your own account, free, whenever you ask. A hosting or app service that runs code I have kept moves as part of a code handover, described below.
For an app, whose Apple or Google developer account it is published under is agreed per project, in the estimate.
Code & ownership
Who keeps the code is agreed up front.
For websites, apps, and custom tools, your estimate says which of two arrangements applies. Unless it says otherwise, I keep the code.
- 01
I keep the code
The lower price. I build it and make changes when you ask. You can use what I build for as long as you like, even if you stop working with me, but the code stays mine, so you can’t copy it or have someone else change it. If you later want the code, handing it over is a separate charge, quoted when you ask, based on the work involved.
- 02
Built for you to own
A higher price up front. Once the whole project is paid for, you get the code and can use, change, and host it however you like. If the project is cancelled before then, what was built falls under “I keep the code”. I keep the right to reuse general-purpose pieces that aren’t specific to you.
Settings and configurations on your own devices and accounts, such as your network, your smart-home routines, and your logins, are always yours.
Your part
- Back up anything important before I work on it. I am careful, but data can be lost when a drive fails or an update goes wrong.
- Only ask me to work on devices, networks, and accounts you own or are allowed to change. For a business, that means you can approve the work.
- Tell me what you know about the problem, and give me the access the job needs.
- Make sure any software you want installed is properly licensed.
Warranty
I fix my own mistakes.
If something I did is not working the way we agreed, tell me and I will fix it at no charge. Beyond that, I can’t guarantee results that depend on things outside my control — your internet provider, third-party products and cloud services, or hardware that fails on its own. No network or device is perfectly secure, and I can’t promise that yours will never be breached. Apart from the promise above, I don’t make other guarantees about my work, as far as the law allows.
Limits on liability
If something goes wrong because of my work, my responsibility is limited to the amount you paid me for the service involved. I am not responsible for indirect losses that follow from it, such as lost data, lost business, or lost profits. These limits apply as far as Michigan law allows, and they don’t take away any right you have that the law says cannot be given up.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. If we disagree about something, let’s talk it through first; most problems can be fixed with a conversation. If we can’t resolve it, any court case will be in the courts of Genesee County, Michigan.
Changes
I may update these terms, and the date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms in effect when you approved an estimate, or asked me to start the work, are the ones that apply to that work.
